Westport Public Shred Day Scheduled for September 24

First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker announced today that Westport will hold its thirteenth annual community shred day on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 9am-12pm, Greens Farms Train Station, 2 Post Office Lane, Westport, CT 06880
Residents may shred up to eight paper bags (bags recycle too) or three boxes (12 inches by 18 inches) per household. Each car will be charged $10.
Proof of Westport residency is required.
“This is an opportunity for Westporters to dispose of personal, confidential and sensitive papers, such as bank statements, cancelled checks, credit card statements, tax records and medical records by watching their papers shredded on-site” said Tooker.
“Document shredding is safe, secure, and confidential. This event helps insure protection against identity theft as well as an opportunity to clean file cabinets of unneeded paper. Our environment also benefits since all material will be recycled.”
