Shopping Local Benefits Community, in More Ways Than One

 

If you’re doing some clothing shopping this weekend, consider buying local at the Winged Monkey. For each item you purchase, owners Joel and Cathy Vogel will donate an item of equal value to Westport Family Services now through Dec. 11.

“We donate to Westport Family Services whenever they have a great need, especially during the holiday season and back-to-school,” Cathy Vogel explained. “We want to encourage our customers to participate.”

The Vogels are also accepting new shoes and clothing, whether or not they’ve been purchased at Winged Monkey, on Westport Family Service’s behalf. They will collect, box, and forward donated items.
