Wave Hill Breads is no longer just a bread bakery. The maker of the renowned crusty and chewy artisan bread is opening a café and local food market at 30 High Street in Central Norwalk.
On Tuesday, January 24 at 3:30 p.m., Mayor Richard A. Moccia will cut the ribbon and break some bread with owners Mitchell Rapoport and Margaret Sapir and staff, members of the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency, Chamber of Commerce representatives, and other local luminaries.
Bakery visitors will discover freshly made French pastries and muffins, Wave Hill Breads’ signature handmade breads and bialys, daily sandwich and soup creations, and specialty foods sourced at the local farmers’ markets. The café will offer music, wi-fi, and the irresistible aroma of baking bread and freshly-brewed Java Love coffee. Wave Hill Breads has convenient on-site parking. Café hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. After hours, customers are welcome to purchase bread and pastries through the bakery’s back door.
