It's Wine Festival Season!

Looking for something to do on the weekend? As the weather starts to cool down, enjoy the beautiful Connecticut scenery by exploring the Connecticut Wine Trail.  Many wineries celebrate their harvest this time of year by holding harvest festivals and fun events.  Here is a list of September festivals:   

 

Haight-Brown Vineyard - Harvest Festival 

September 15 & 16

 Live Music, Wine Tastings, cellar tours, cheese and chocolate pairing, food, grape stomping and hay rides.  $15 Admission.

Hopkins Vineyard - Annual Harvest Celebration

September 15 & 16

 

Wine tasting, live music by the Hopkins Trio, artisan cheese, pate and fresh fruit buffet.  Complimentary wine glass.  Estate grape sampling.  Advance tickets $25 until Sept. 12, at the door $30.  Children under 12 free.  Visit website for additional informtion and to purchase tickets. 

Stonington Vineyards - Harvest Wine & Food Festival

September 15 & 16 

Wine, food vendors and music by The Cartells.  Admission includes complimentary wine glass and 6 wine tastings.  Tickets $12 in advance, $14 at the gate.  Visit website for additional information.

White Silo Winery - Annual Raspberry Festival

 September 15 & 16

This is a family oriented event with live music.  Farm museum, winery and field tours.

Nutmeggar Cheese & Wine Festival, September 23

Hosted by Jones Family Farms & Winery

Featuring the very best of Connecticut Cheese & Wine, with 8 cheesemakers and 4 wineries.  Enjoy vineyard tours, hayrides, corn maze, cheese maker talks, contests, book signings and more!  Fundraiser to protect Connecticut's farmland and to support quality childhood nutrition thru the ongoing efforts of the Working Lands Alliance and the Valley Initiative.  Tickets $50 in advance, $55 at the event.  Visit www.jonesfamilyfarms.comfor more information and to purchase your tickets online.  Event will take place rain or shine.

Sunset Meadow Vineyards - Annual Fall Harvest Festival

September 29 & 30

Join us in the picturesque Litchfield Hills during prime foliage season.  Atop our vineyards we will be having Wine Tastings, Music, Hayrides, Grape Stomp, Contests, Food, Artisans and Vendors.  Call or visit website for tickets or additional information.
