Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Wilton Newcomers Club has decided to postpone its first 5K fundraiser from December 8th to March 16th. The club made the decision to postpone the race given the needs posed to the greater New York CIty area as a result of the storm. In addition, the club is hopeful that the new date will bring in more runners as well as greater local sponsorship of the event. As a result of the change, the club is proud to announce the first Shamrock Shuffle 5K Charity Race at 9:00 AM Saturday March 16th starting at the Wilton Public Library. A 1K Kids Run will begin at 8:45 at the same starting line. The Wilton Newcomers Club is a non-profit social club that serves families in Wilton, Connecticut. The Club is committed to fundraising for local charitable organizations.

This year, the WNC Shamrock Shuffle 5K Charity Race will benefit two Wilton community members. The proceeds will be distributed to: The SMS Research Foundation in the name of the Iannuzzi family who have a daughter with Smith-Magenis Syndrome. Officer Frank Razzaia has said, “I would like to let everyone know how grateful my family is for the support we have received from not only friends and family but the local community.
