Wiltonites, Courtney Hynes, Ady Fleitz, Kitty Aznaran, Libby Scaperotta &Gabriella Nisco (not pictured) participated in the United States Pony Club's Metro Region Quiz Rally held at the Joel Barlow High School in Redding on Saturday, March 9th. The Quiz Rally tested contestants' knowledge of horsemanship both as individuals and as part of a team.
Courtney Hynes' team finished second for their level and Libby Scaperotta & Gabriella Nisco's team finished third at their level. Ady Fleitz & Kitty Aznaran were organizers and testers for the "barn phase".
There were 100 participants from 25 teams around the tri-state region. The Wilton Pony Club, an affiliate of the United States Pony Club, serves Wilton as well as Ridgefield, Redding, Weston and Darien.
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. was founded in 1954 as a nonprofit, national youth organization to teach riding and horsemanship through a formal educational program. Many of the nation's top equestrians, including Olympic team members, business professionals, government leaders and career military officers, have roots in Pony Club.
