
2/18 A Stamford man and woman were arrested at Norwalk Superior Court while making separate court appearances Accused were arrested on a warrant issued for shoplifting which occurred on 11/22/12 in which they conspired with others to steal a number of bottles of liquor, total value of which was $523. Accused had been arrested on 12/07013 along with other parties for shoplifting liquor from Ancona's.
2/20 A complaint was received from a person who works in town who received a phone call on her cell from a Hispanic sounding male who claimed that her brother had been kidnapped following a car accident and a ransom needed to be pains, flaming the brother caused $6,000 worth of damage. The caller eventually hung up when he did not receive cooperation from the complainant. The phone number that came up on the caller ID was found to be associated with numerous scam phone calls of this nature. Investigation has been determined that these scam phone calls frequently originate from out of this country. Residents should be suspicious when receiving highly unusual phone calls such as this and should resist immediately sending funds while they investigate the matter further.
2/20 A 51 year old Wilton woman was arrested for failure to drive in the correct lane, cell phone use and DUI. Her car drifted off to the right side of Spoonwood Rd while traveling South Bound and struck a tree and a utility pole. There were no injuries and her BAL was .15
2/21 A 31 year old Coram NY man turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. He failed to make a court appearance when he was originally arrested in June 2011 following a 2010 home improvement violation investigation.
2/23 Following a complaint of a citizen, indicating an individual was walking north on Danbury Rd dressed in dark clothes what would render him barely visible to traffic, a 26 year old Danbury man was located south of Grumman Hill Rd and found to have an active arrest warrant pending in Danbury. At the time of arrest he threw away the items that were later located and found a cell phone and Marijuana. He was charred accordingly and held on $1,000 bond.
2/24 Om 2/23 at approximately 3:30 the suspect vehicle involved in an accident evading case which occurred on 2/16 on Cheese Spring, was located by police in the Stop & Shop parking lot.Upon further investigation the operator of the vehicle, a 17 year old Wilton male admitted to the police that he was the driver responsible for the accident. The male surrendered at WPD and was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for the following charges: evading responsibility, failure to return suspended license to DMV, traveling to fast for conditions and failure to drive right on curve.
2/24 A 17 year old female student reported having her Apple iPhone 4S stolen from the tickets sales table at the WIlton High School Gym during a basketball game. The phone was valued at approximately $100
