Why did you start your business?
Eighteen years ago, Joe & Laura Kaddis of Weston had six rescue dogs, were fostering another seven that had been scheduled for euthanasia, and we're getting short on house. When they heard a kennel was for sale in Wilton, the couple saw a perfect opportunity. Envisioning a canine retreat that would provide loving care for all dogs, regardless of breed, give them space outdoors to run and play, and help homeless dogs find forever families, they purchased Passage East Kennels in 2000.

I wish I could change the way people see kennels! Pet parents sometimes hear "kennel" and worry their dog will be left in a cramped cage all day. At Passage East, we know that's no way to treat a family member. We keep our boarding & daycare guests feeling their best by providing 2 playgroups a day for up to 4 hours of fresh air and fun with no additional costs. If your dog is nervous, we'll work with them to build skills & confidence so they can better enjoy just being a dog. There's nothing more rewarding to us than seeing a pup go home even happier and better-adjusted than when they arrived.
Passage East is best known for boarding, but grooming at our full-service Salon is on the rise! We have four dedicated stylists who take their time with each dog to create a low-stress experience and head-turning results. We're open 7 days a week for everything from haircuts to baths to nail trims, as a departure service if you're staying with us or just for a relaxing doggy spa day.
