You're IT Belden Hill Montessori School!
Three questions with Sara A. Flanagan, founder of Belden Hill Montessori School.
Why did you start Belden Hill Montessori?
I started Belden Hill Montessori because I wanted to offer an amazing educational program with reasonable tuition. Not everyone can afford high tuition at a private school. I do believe in Public Schools. I think Montessori offers a wonderful foundation for the ages 2.5 through Kindergarten. I have been teaching Montessori for 37 years and my 4 boys went through Montessori.
The Montessori Method has been around since 1907.
Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could...
I wish I could have more families experience the Montessori Method, as I do believe many parents think it is a structured environment or an environment where the child can do whatever they want. My motto is "Come see it to believe and understand it." Get a WOW factor from Belden Hill Montessori.
How many people do you employ?
We are a small 1 room classroom located at the School Sisters Of Notre Dame. We have 1 headteacher and 1 assistant. Currently, we have 24 students with 3 different age groups.
When a child begins the program they are with us through kindergarten - that is the MOST important year. It is when everything comes together like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! We do have students from various high schools come and do their senior internship with us.
