Wilton Historical Society and Hillside Cemetery present Women of Wilton, WOW! A celebration of Women’s History Month featuring an illustrated talk by Pam Brown and Catherine Lipper on Thursday, March 31 from 1:00 – 2:00 on Zoom

What do they have in common? A vaudeville, film and Broadway actress; an abolitionist; a suffragist; a 37-year president of Mt. Holyoke; Wilton’s first female elected official; a beloved educator, a community activist; and an internationally known journalist – each was interesting and inspirational – and lived and was buried in Wilton. These eight special women, whose lives span 1793 – 2003, are being recognized as we celebrate Women’s History Month.

Wilton Historical and Hillside Cemetery will present an illustrated zoom talk entitled Women of Wilton, WOW! The program will be offered on Thursday, March 31 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Pam Brown, Executive Administrator of Hillside Cemetery and Catherine Lipper, Educator for Wilton Historical will acquaint attendees with biographical sketches of June Havoc; Polly Wakeman; Alice Merwin Eakland; Mary Emma Wooley; Hannah Chichester; Angeline Post; Gladys Marhoffer and Elizabeth Neuffer.
