Wilton Library Presents “Resilience, Reflection, and Revelations” Art Exhibition
Wilton, Conn. – September 18, 2024 – Wilton Library is pleased to present the diverse works of eight area artists in its October art exhibition “Resilience, Reflection, and Revelations,” opening on Friday, October 4 with a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition features women artists: Pam Ackley (Killingworth), Afsaneh Djabbari-Aslani (New Cannan), Alma Faham (Danbury), Cynthia Fazekas (Shelton), Mari Gyorgyey (Stamford), Katya Lebrija (Wilton), Pam Rouleau (Old Greenwich), and Nomi Silverman (Greenwich). They will exhibit their works in an array of styles, media choices, and subject matter, all portraying vibrant and varied types of resilience found in life and nature. The opening reception is free and open to the public.
“The exhibition started with the requests of three artists – Pam Rouleau, Mari Gyorgyey, and Katya Lebrija - to display their works at Wilton Library, and the common themes of resilience, survival, and strength emerged from their works. Then we started to reach out to more local women artists to see if they would like to participate,” said said Betsy Huffman, Art Co-Chair of Wilton Library. “This exhibition delves into some interesting questions - what makes something or someone resilient? How do we find inner peace in chaos? What provides refuge? What strengths do motherhood or nature or art reveal? We hope this exhibit helps people to reflect on the many rich and diverse types of resilience found all around us.”
