UPDATE: Citizen Reports, Police Work Lead to Safe Recovery of Abducted Juvenile

On Friday, Ridgefield Police reported that around 5:15 PM, officers assisted Wilton Police with a pursuit involving a possible abduction of a female juvenile. The juvenile exited the vehicle near Tanglewood Court in Ridgefield, while the vehicle continued northbound on Main Street. The suspect vehicle then turned left on Catoonah and collided with another vehicle.
Today, the Wilton Police provided details about the incident, explaining that around 4:23 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted them. The caller reported seeing a young female on Ridgefield Road near Drum Hill Road who appeared to have been forced into a black vehicle with no license plate.
Wilton Police say officers located the suspect vehicle traveling north on Ridgefield Road near the Ridgefield town line. The vehicle did not stop for officers' emergency lights and sirens, leading to a pursuit. During the chase, the vehicle turned onto Tanglewood Court in Ridgefield, where the abducted female either jumped or was pushed out. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
“The suspect vehicle continued North on Rt. 33 refusing to stop for both Wilton and Ridgefield police cruisers and ultimately collided with another vehicle on Catoonah Street in Ridgefield. A group of individuals then exited the vehicle and fled on foot,” according to Wilton Police.After a short foot pursuit, Wilton Police say “Two juveniles were apprehended almost immediately and two more were apprehended later on with the help of some Ridgefield residents and K-9 units from both Ridgefield and Bridgeport. All juveniles apprehended were brought back to the Wilton Police Department for further investigation and were eventually released to their guardians.”
