Author talk with Major Miguel N. Santana (Retired) U.S. Army
Major Miguel N. Santana (Retired), U.S. Army and local Pompano Beach resident, brings an authentic, authoritative voice to his memoir "Unheard Voices The Fight For Ramadi: A Soldier’s Memoir From Combat Outpost Falcon".
His 25-year military journey began in December 1989 as an enlisted E-1 Tank System Mechanic. Commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate through the ROTC program in 2004, he transitioned from the motor pool to the infantry officer corps, ultimately leading soldiers across three major combat deployments: twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. Written by an officer who rose from an enlisted mechanic to a combat platoon commander, "Unheard Voices" is a stoic monument to small-unit leadership, raw survival, and the unbreakable armor of combat brotherhood.
