Center for SMART Health Seminar: AI in Health and Sports with Moataz Eltoukhy, Ph.D.
Seminar Description
Artificial intelligence (AI)-based markerless motion capture is an emerging technology in biomechanics with significant potential to transform movement assessment in health care and sports. By using video data rather than reflective markers and specialized laboratory equipment, these systems can enable non-invasive, quantitative movement analysis in more natural environments, including clinics, homes and athletic settings.
In this seminar, Dr. Moataz Eltoukhy will explore how AI can advance movement assessment beyond traditional laboratory-based approaches. Through practical examples, he will discuss the potential of AI-powered technologies to improve the accessibility, portability and efficiency of movement analysis for clinical care, rehabilitation and sports performance.
