Miami City Ballet: American Odyssey @ Glazer Hall
Miami City Ballet makes its GLAZER HALL debut with American Odyssey , a vibrant evening celebrating the enduring creativity, musicality, and spirit of American ballet.
The evening opens with George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante , a radiant showcase of breathtaking speed, sweeping musicality, and classical virtuosity. At the heart of the program is Choreographic Concerto , an original collaboration between Miami City Ballet and the New World Symphony. Inspired by the structure of a musical concerto, it unfolds through five interconnected short ballets, each pairing a different choreographer with a different composer. From one movement to the next, styles shift, musical worlds collide, and fresh perspectives emerge, coming together as one exhilarating artistic journey. The program concludes with Balanchine’s Rubies , the dazzling centerpiece of his iconic Jewels . Bold, playful, and infused with the syncopated rhythms of Stravinsky’s jazzy score, Rubies is a sparkling finale that brings American Odyssey to an unforgettable close.
