In this workshop, nonprofit and startup leaders will learn how to work with governments and influence public policy through interactive exercises focusing on:
The differences between advocacy, lobbying, and political campaign activity How to identify the government agency or official with authority over an issue How to develop a clear and actionable policy request How to prepare for meetings with elected officials and agency staff Public funding pathways, including grants, appropriations, contracts, and government partnerships When an organization may benefit from government affairs or lobbying support Seating is limited, registration required.
