Search Smarter: Research Without AI
Can you find the answer without asking AI?
In this interactive class, participants will put their research skills to the test while learning how to find reliable information online without relying on artificial intelligence. We’ll explore smarter ways to use search engines, library databases, websites, and other online resources to track down answers.
Participants will learn how to choose effective search terms, narrow down search results, identify trustworthy sources, recognize questionable information, and compare multiple sources before deciding what to believe. Then, they’ll take on a series of research challenges to see who can find accurate information using their own detective skills.
There’s just one rule: No AI allowed!
Community Service Opportunity: Participants who attend the full program will earn community service hours and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the class. 6th to 12th grade.
