Redding resident Ed Dzubak won his fourth Daytime Emmy Award last week for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series. Mr. Dzubak was part of a seven-member team that composed the music for the soap opera All My Children.
"I was flabbergasted," he said about the win. "None of us expected our names to be called."
After the composers accepted their awards, they were ushered backstage for interviews. "There was a ton of media," Mr. Dzubak said. It was much more lavish than the events I've been to in New York. An entire press corps was backstage, even a camera crew from Japan. After you win, there's a post-win walk you take down a red carpet, which is lined with photographers. Everything finally started to sink in when I got to the lobby. I called my wife at almost one a.m. It was a great experience," he added. "I was lucky to work with such talented people on All My Children."
