Reception in Support of Adam Dunsby, April 12th

A reception in support of Adam Dunsby, Republican candidate for the Connecticut’s 135th State Assembly District, will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at the home of Ward Mazzucco and Tami O’Connor, 44 Wood Road, Redding from 6-8PM. The 135th State Assembly District includes Redding, Easton and Weston. The seat is currently held by Republican John Shaban, who is now a candidate for the 4th U.S. Congressional District. Mr. Dunsby is currently serving a second term as First Selectman in Easton.

“My objective is to make Connecticut prosper,” Dunsby said. “We need to transform Connecticut into a state where both workers and businesses want to be. The first steps are to restore fiscal order and to keep control as local as possible.”

Dunsby, 48, was elected First Selectman of Easton in 2013 and won re-election without challenge in 2015. As First Selectman, he has delivered a new town website, modernized Easton’s recycling program, installed 1-1/2 acres of solar panels (which provide half the electricity for the town’s elementary school), reaffirmed Easton’s AAA rating, and kept tax increases at a manageable 1.8%. He has testified before the state on important regional issues such as proposed onerous storm water regulations and 8-30g (affordable housing) regulations.

He was a member of Easton’s Conservation Commission (inland wetlands) from 2003 to 2009, the final two years as its chairman. Adam served as an elected member of Easton’s Board of Education from 2009 to 2013, the final year as its chairman. During his tenure on the Board of Education, Helen Keller Middle School was named a national  Blue Ribbon School. He also served as the chairman of the Easton Republican Town Committee from 2012 to 2014. In the 2013 municipal election, Easton Republicans won all contested races.

He currently devotes all his professional time to Easton’s first selectman duties, which is officially a part-time position. Prior to that, he helped found two investment companies, most recently SummerHaven Investment Management. He has published a book, papers, and articles in the field of investing, and in 2009 was an adjunct professor of finance at Fairfield University. He has also coached little league for the past four years.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dunsby attended public schools there until entering the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, from which he graduated summa cum laude. He also holds a PhD in finance from Wharton. He and his wife, Cathy, are the parents of four children ranging in ages from eight to 17.

Those interested in attending the April 12th reception can RSVP to Ward Mazzucco via email at wjm@danburylaw.com. Donations to Dunsby 2016 are welcome and can be given at the event or mailed to John Allan, Treasurer, Dunsby 2016, 68 Tranquility Drive, Easton, CT 06612. Mailed donations should be accompanied by the state required contribution form, which can be downloaded at http://www.reddingrepublicans.org/Dunsby2016contributionform.pdf.
