Annual Mark Twain Library Juried Art Show

The beginning of the holiday season in Redding is marked by the Annual Mark Twain Library Juried Art Show. The Art Show is an annual fundraiser for the Library, now in its 49th year. Proceeds from this not-to-be-missed show provide necessary funding for the Library’s many vital programs, while also helping support our beloved artists.

As in 2020, works of art will be hung in our treasured Library Gallery and will also be available for sale in an (online) Virtual Gallery. Last year’s Art Show was a fantastic success despite the pandemic, and we expect that 2021’s Art Show will continue to bring a wealth of quality artwork to our community of sponsors and patrons. The 2021 Juror is esteemed artist Jennifer Gennari. 

The return of our widely-anticipated Preview Reception kicks off the show on the evening of Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Invitations to Library Friends will be mailed in mid-October. Admission tickets for the general public will be announced later in November. In the spirit of the season, artists generously donate a portion of the sale of their works to benefit the library.  

A highlight of the Preview Reception evening is the festive Silent Auction where lively bidding adds to the evening’s fun. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go towards supporting the Mark Twain Library.

Sponsorship levels $500 and higher receive exclusive preview access to the Library Gallery and the Silent Auction – in person – prior to the Preview Reception where they may buy and bid. 

Our Library Gallery will be open to the public consistent with social distance guidelines from Sunday, December 5 until Sunday, December 12, 2021, during Library hours.

Friday, Dec. 3rd: Sponsors $1,000 and above may view and buy in person. Silent Auction opens.

Saturday, Dec. 4th  |  5 pm: Preview Reception Admission for $500 Sponsors to view, buy and bid.

Saturday, Dec. 4th  |  6 pm: Reception Admission for Friends and Leadership ticket holders to view, buy and bid.

Saturday, Dec. 4th  |  7 pm: Preview Reception for General Public ticket holders to view, buy and bid.

Sunday, Dec 5th-12th: Virtual and in-person Library Gallery open to the public during regular Library Hours. Masks required.
