Redding First Selectwoman, Julia Pemberton posted this message on social media. Redding was walloped. Our thoughts and prayers to all of the responders and those impacted by this severe flooding.
"Streams and rivers are overtopped, covering roads and bridges. In short, stay off the roads if you don’t have to travel. There are cars stalled on Umpawaug, Rt. 107, and that’s just what I’ve seen. Until the water recedes, you may not be able to get where you want to go."
- Georgetown intersections at RT 57/Main St./107/and Portland are flooded.
- Branchville train tracks are underwater.
Major flooding Rt 107 / Rt53 part of the road washed out through the causeway between Rt 53 / Newtown Tpke, Poverty Hollow on the straightaway near Old Hattertown and the bridge near the waterfall, Diamond Hill Bridge, Great Oak near the Highway Department. Old Redding Road from Rt7 to Mountain Road flooded.
