<p>June is dog licensing month, and owners in Southbury can again take advantage of an easier way to renew. If your dog was registered last year and the rabies certificate is still current, you can save time by&nbsp;<strong>renewing the license through the online portal</strong>&nbsp;between June 1 and August 31.</p><p>Dog licenses can also be renewed by mail or in person at the Town Clerk's Office at Southbury Town Hall during office hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm).</p><p>Per State Statute, there is a $1 penalty fee per month when an owner fails to license a dog by the June 30 deadline.</p><p>For more information about the dog licenses, please visit our website at&nbsp;<a href="https://southbury-ct.org/doglicenses" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://southbury-ct.org/doglicenses</a>.</p><p>The&nbsp;<strong>Southbury Town Clerk will also be at the Rabies Vaccination Clinic to issue dog licenses</strong>.</p><p>The clinic is organized by the Southbury Animal Control and Roxbury Animal Clinic and will be held on&nbsp;<strong>Sunday, June 8 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm</strong>&nbsp;at the Southbury Town Garage on 66 Peter Road.</p><p>The cost is&nbsp;<strong>$20.00 per animal, CASH ONLY</strong>. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. Cats on leashes will not be accepted.</p><p>Connecticut law requires that all dogs and cats 3 months of age or older be vaccinated against rabies. Written proof of prior vaccination for rabies must be presented to qualify for a three-year certificate. Tags are not acceptable proof. <p>Flanders Nature Center &amp; Land Trust is excited to host its 10th Anniversary Field &amp; Forest 5K Trail Run/Walk! The race is planned for <span style="color: rgb(38, 38, 38);">Friday, June 6th at the Van Vleck Farm &amp; Nature Sanctuary in Woodbury. </span>All ages and skill levels of runners, joggers, and walkers are welcome to register to enjoy this <a href="3.1-mile" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">3.1-mile</a> run/walk through the trails and rolling hills of the picturesque nature center. After the race, participants will enjoy live music by the popular cover rock band, The Leftovers. Participants and spectators will be able to purchase food from local food trucks Little Italy Pizza and Polar Sweets. The Flanders Grill will be open and serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, and Beyond Burgers! Additionally, local brewery, Woodbury Brewing Co., will be on site with their delicious brews for sale.</p><p>Online registration is ongoing but will close on June 5th at 11:59 PM. The fee is $32.80 for participants over 13 and $22.20 for participants 12 and younger (includes processing fees, but not tax). Flanders will offer same-day in-person race registration.
