Another Business to Close in Southbury

It was announced yesterday via email and social media that the Southbury location of Labonne's will be closing by the end of October. New inventory will stop being brought in starting today, and items will be discounted. Store hours have also changed due to the closing of the store, they will now be 10:00am - 6:00pm from now until the final day.

Below is the letter that was sent to patrons from Rob Labonne explaining the situation.

______________________________

I have some sad news to share...we are officially closing the Southbury location. I wish it wasn't true but due to the chain store competition, rent, increasing utility costs, etc we are forced to make the decision. We will be better off simply paying the rent for the remainder of our lease with the store closed compared to the expense of keeping it up and running.

Starting Friday, October 2nd we will stop bringing in new product, all items in the store will be discounted and the inventory should be sold out within a couple weeks. It will be a good opportunity for you to stock up on some great deals. The store hours going forward will be 10am-6pm until it is closed.

My hope is that you will join us in Woodbury or Watertown where you will see many of the usual smiling faces that you were used to seeing in Southbury. The benefit of having 2 other stores close by is that we get to take our great associates with us. Your rewards card and other accounts will continue to work there as well.

If Watertown or Woodbury are too far of a drive, there is always the option of using our To Go service. James will be transferring the To Go operations over to Watertown where you will have an even greater product selection and next day delivery. You can click here for more info on that

The silver lining to all of this is that our other 3 locations are having a combined record sales year and we will be able to focus our best effort on growing them even more.

I along with the entire team here at Southbury and the LaBonne family want to say thank you for everything you have done for us and our community. The Southbury LaBonne's gave more to the Southbury Food Bank than the two big box stores combined, so we know we will be missed.

You will continue to be included in my weekly newsletter going forward. If you wish to unsubscribe you can do so by clicking the link at the bottom of this email.

As always, if you have any questions or if I can help with anything, just hit reply. It was great getting to know you and I hope I'll be seeing you at our other stores.

Yours truly,

Rob LaBonne
