Apple Festival in Southbury on September 17 from 9am to 3pm at South Britain Congregational Church, 693 South Britain Road.
The 23rd annual Apple Festival, sponsored by the South Britain Congregational Church, 693 South Britain Road, Southbury CT; will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. One of the highlights of the Fest will be the sale of homemade apple pies made by the members of the church. Other homemade baked goods will be available with fresh honey and specialty jellies. Box lunches will be available for purchase as well as an old-fashioned BBQ pulled pork luncheon in the Parish House, with vegetarian gluten free offerings for those who want them. An outdoor snack bar will be available for occasional hunger breaks.
The fair will include many family-friendly events to help guests enjoy the celebration. A church-sponsored White Elephant tag sale and a Country Store will be held in separate areas. Fall mums are only one of the sale items in the Country Store and they come in all the fall colors in time for fall planting and decorating. Other booths and activities include a Book Room, a ladies Accessories Room, a Jewelry area, the Man Cave, a Pick-A-Prize, a Silent Auction, and local arts and crafts vendors.
Entertainment will also be available throughout the day. Drummers will open the Fest at 9:00 AM and welcome the early guests. Many of your favorite musical groups will be performing throughout the day. LIVE Birds of Prey will perform at 9:30 AM, Old Tyme Fiddlers at 11:00 AM and Judson Jazz at 12:00. The Southbury fire truck will arrive at noon as well and will be available until the Fest closes at 3:00 PM.
