An Evening of Song and Dance
This concert brings together the FAU Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Singers, University Chorus and Schola Cantorum of Florida in a program filled with imagination, beauty, and dramatic power under the direction of Laura Joella, DMA.
Audiences will be transported from the whimsical world of Joby Talbot’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the exotic energy of Saint-Saëns’ “Dance Bacchanale” from Samson et Dalila, and the enchanting dances of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to the soaring choral masterpieces of Verdi, Brahms, and Sibelius. Featuring the beloved “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves” and dramatic Overture from Nabucco, Brahms’ profoundly moving Song of Destiny, and the triumphant majesty of Finlandia. Tickets $10.
