Film Screening: Rashomon
Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 8:00 PM · Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

Brimming with action while incisively examining the nature of truth, Rashomon, is perhaps the finest film ever to investigate the philosophy of justice. Through an ingenious use of camera and flashbacks, Akira Kurosawa reveals the complexities of human nature as four people recount different versions of a crime. An introduction will be made by Katharine Labuda, a Special Collections Librarian with the Miami-Dade Public Library System, where she manages the 16mm Film Collection, and archival materials in the Helen Muir Florida Collection.
