The Hot Sardines: Holiday Stomp @ Glazer Hall

Holiday Stomp  is inspired by classic holiday films (such as  White Christmas  and  It’s a Wonderful Life ) and timeless classics, with hat-tips to Louis Armstrong, Edith Piaf, Duke Ellington and beyond such as: “Mistletoe and Holly,” “Le Noël de la Rue,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Blue Christmas,” “Christmas Blues,” “White Christmas,” “Please Come Home for Christmas,” and more. Co-founded by Elizabeth Bougerol (vocals) and Evan Palazzo (piano), The Hot Sardines perform with an ensemble featuring some of New York’s finest jazz, brass, and tap musicians. Their distinctive sound draws on the hot jazz of Louis Armstrong, the stride piano of Fats Waller, the smoky glamour of Parisian cabarets, and the rollicking energy of New Orleans. This holiday season, join The Hot Sardines for a joyful, high-energy celebration that brings vintage jazz to life with a fresh, contemporary spark. “Not many bands have seized the postmillennial early-jazz spotlight with as much gusto as The Hot Sardines.” — Nate Chinen,  WBGO
