14th Annual Honors High School Orchestra “Side-by-Side” Festival for Strings
Talented high school students from around the state perform side-by-side with members of the FAU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Laura Joella, DMA, in a celebration of music education and orchestral collaboration.
Repertoire will be selected from a compelling and diverse program, including the graceful lyricism of Dvořák’s Serenade No. 1 in E Major, the haunting intensity of Shostakovich’s Sinfonia for String Orchestra, drawn from String Quartet No. 8, the lightness and charm of Johann Strauss Jr. and Josef Strauss’s Pizzicato-Polka, among others.
