“The Dust Bowl Troubadour”: The Songs of Woody Guthrie
The American-songwriter Woody Guthrie was arguably one of the most significant figures in American folk music.
Although primarily known for "This Land is Your Land," Guthrie also composed numerous songs concerning American socialism, and anti-facism, eventually earning one of his albums (Dust Bowl Ballades) listed among the "100 Albums that Changed the World." Come join Dr. Tom Cimarusti (FGCU Professor of Music History) as we explore the life and the music of this American icon, "The Dust Bowl Troubadour." You'll want to bring your singing hats to this one! This event is also available virtually.
